Yam Haus began in Minneapolis, Minnesota back in 2017 when high school friends Lars Pruitt, Seth Blum, and Zach Beinlich met Jake Felstow while attending college. The band members subsequently quit their day jobs: Zack postponed his master’s program, Jake left his healthcare company job, Seth left his pre-med studies, and Lars said goodbye to a church music gig. It was a leap of faith that ultimately paid off, as just a year later, their very first single “West Coast” was released just before their debut album “Stargazer”. Since 2018, Yam Haus has released three Eps: “Stargazer Sessions” in 2019; “The Band is Gonna Make It” in 2020; and “A Very Yam Haus Christmas” in 2020 as well. After their The Band is Gonna Make It Tour was cancelled due to the pandemic, Yam Haus released two additional singles, “Pop Game” and “novacaine”. In total, the band has released twenty different singles, as recently as 2022’s “Ready to Go” which was one of the top songs on the American Song Contest and has nearly half a million streams on Spotify.
