Pop music may have already found its king, but Sparks is the one always re-writing the rules of the genre. The Mael brothers grew up in the Pacific Palisades back in the so called “Golden Age” of the So-Cal club scene, where they drew much of their inspiration. They first started recording their signature pop-rock sounds using the stage name Urban Renewal Project back in 1967. Since the conception of their musical career, Sparks (also operating under the name Halfnelson during their earlier years) has released 26 studio albums. Their first major hit was their third album, “Kimono My House,” a certified Gold record that hit number four on the U.K. charts. Sparks’ next album, “Propoganda”, went silver and hit number nine on the U.K. charts. Since then, Sparks has received a ton of praise and massive success.
