As the only child of Nest Rowlands and Derek John Jones, Aled hit big when he covered “Walking in the Air” from Channel 4’s The Snowman in 1985, when he was just 15 years old. That same year, he sang alongside Anita Hegerland and Barry Palmer for Mike Oldfield’s song “Pictures in the Dark”. At the age of 16, his voice broke so he took a little break from singing. But by then, he had already recorded 16 albums that sold more than six million copies, performed for the Queen, Pope John Paul II, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and presented many children’s TV programs. Since his days of a world-famous teenage singer, Aled has become a very popular TV and radio personality with the BBC, BBC Radio Wales, Classic FM, and ITV. Aled studied at the Royal Academy of Music and Bristol Old Vic Theatre school to study acting alongside music. He made his debut into acting at the Royal Theater in How Green Was My Valley.
