Before they were known as Bambara, 23jinx got their start as a post-punk and noise rock band in 2001. The band consists of Reid Bateh on lead vocals and guitar, Blaze Bateh on drums and vocals, and William Brookshire on bass and vocals. Under 23jinx, they released their debut album “Curtains and Cannibals” in 2005. After adopting the name Bambara, signed with Arrowhawk Records in 2013. The next year, they were just about done recording and mastering their new album “Swarm” but unfortunately, their computer was stolen, and all the music went with it. After having to start from scratch, Bambara created an all-new EP full of experimental noise called “Night Chimes” which steered the band in a new direction. Since 2013, Bambara released four studio albums: “Dreamviolence”, “Swarm”, “Shadow on Everything”, and most recently “Stray”. They’ve also released four EP’s, starting with the aforementioned “Night Chimes”, “Dog Ear Days”, “Rings”, and “Love On My Mind” in 2022. They’ve toured with big punk bands like IDLES and Daughters.
