DJ Q (also known as his birth name Shollen Quarshie) is an England-based DJ and record producer who is part of the group TQD with Flava D and Royal-T. He was just a young man when he began this journey of pursuing music. His parents would play music and he would absorb it. When he was 12, he started getting involved in the local garage electronic music scene. Inspired, he purchased vinyl records and a pair of record decks and then taught himself how to mix. Three years later, when he was just 15, he was already booking gigs around London. That’s what started him on his journey to become a bassline music pioneer. Then, DJ Q released his debut “Love Like This (The Reasons)” which naturally garnered a lot of attention in the U.K. garage scene. His song “You Wot!” landed in the U.K. Top 50 and it led to remix work for artists like Katy B, Dizzee Rascal, Keri Hilson, and the late Amy Winehouse. Since then, he’s played venues across the globe (Italy, Russia, Ibiza, Australia, Amsterdam, and of course the States).
