DJ EZ (which is actually pronounced DJ EE ZED, just so you know) is an EDM house and garage DJ and musician from Tottenham, London. It was there where he discovered hip hop, electro, and house music (while listening to the U.K.’s infamous pirate radios). With all of that said, he is now considered a pioneer in U.K.’s own garage music scene. He’s the host of a Kiss 100 radio show and also mixes the Pure Garage series of musical compilations. In the early 90’s, DJ EZ released a demo tape to Freek 101.8, a pirate radio dedicated to house and garage music. This opened the door for him to host a 4-hour long Saturday and Sunday morning segment. This success led DJ EZ to host weekly club night called Club Z in Leicester Square. Just when garage became a predominate genre in the U.K., DJ EZ’s name mainstream success followed suit. In 1998, he released “4 Track EP” under the Undercover Kutz banner, before releasing “The Next Chapter EP” four years later under Z Records. The two consecutive EP’s were released under One Recordings. In 2016, DJ EZ played a 24-hour long set and donated all proceeds to Cancer Research U.K..
