Foxing is a St. Louis-based indie rock band comprised of Conor murphy, Jon Hellwig, and Eric Hudson (previously Josh Coll, Thomas Pini, Samuel Naumann, Jim Fitzpatrick, Matthew Piva, Ben Helman, and Ricky Sampson were members as well). They got their start back in 2011 when the post-rock band Hunter Gatherer met its conclusion, with members Josh, Jon, and Matthew deciding to move on to something else. After onboarding Conor, they formed Foxing, which has been described as a lot of different things: indie rock and post rock meets chamber rock, emo, math rock, and post-rock. They’ve been compared to bands like American Football, Dads, Empire! Empire!, and The World is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid to Die. They released their debut EP “Old Songs” in August of 2012 and then a year later, they released their debut studio album “The Albatross”. The song “Rory” appeared on the best of emo songs list in Vulture. In 2015, they released “Dealer”, which peaked at the number 4 spot on the U.S. Heatseekers Albums (Billboard), number 24 on the U.S. Independent Albums chart, number 24 on the U.S. Top Alternative Albums, number 29 on the U.S. Top Rock Albums, and number 3 on the U.S. Vinyl Albums..
