James Shanahan, AKA Jamey Jasta (or just Jasta), is an American singer and musician best known for being the frontman of the metalcore group Hatebreed, along with sludge metal band Kingdom of Sorrow, Icepick, and his own solo project known only as “Jasta.” Jasta is the owner of Stillborn Records, a West Haven, Connecticut-based record label. In 2011, he dropped his very first self-titled solo album. The record was a collaboration between Jasta, Randy Blythe, Mark Morton, Zakk Wylde, Philip Labonte, and Tim Lambesis. “Jasta” was released through eOne Music and Century Media Records in Europe. Musical critics with the publication AllMusic gave the album 4 out of 5 stars and Blabbermouth.net gave it a 6.5 out of 10. He’s made a lot of major contributions to music and television, creating the music for The Dan Patrick Show’s “Stat of the Day.” As a music producer, he helped create Dee Snider’s fourth solo album called “For the Love of Metal” and then moved on to help produce the follow-up release.
