Hinder is an American alternative rock, post-grunge, hard rock, and glam metal band from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The band’s conception dates back to 2001, when Austin Winkler (the former lead singer) got together with Joe “Blower” Garvey and Cody Hanson to start playing music. Bassist Mike Roden and guitarist Mark King joined them two years later. Two years after this, they released their first studio album “Extreme Behavior” which was a massive success. It featured five chart-topping singles (most notably “Lips of an Angel”, which hit the number 1 spots on the Australian ARIA chart, the Canadian Hot AC Billboard chart, the New Zealand Recorded Music NZ chart, and the U.S. Mainstream Top 40 billboard chart). Their second album “Take It to the Limit” was released in 2008, followed by “All American Nightmare” in 2010, “Welcome to the Freakshow” in 2012, “When the Smoke Clears” in 2015”, and “The Reign” in 2017. The latter of the two did not feature Austin on vocals, as he left the band in 2013, but he has since adopted his own solo career. In 2016, he released “Love Sick Radio” and, most recently in 2022, he dropped the single “American Dreams” on all major digital distributors..
