A four-piece band called Wild Youth took over the Spotify Viral Charts, where their debut song spent two weeks at the top. They play a melodic type of pop-rock with electronic nuances, drawing inspiration from artists such as Imagine Dragons, The XX, The Script and The 1975. Conor O'Donohoe, a songwriter and keyboardist who had to undergo extensive rehabilitation as a result of a freak accident, picked up the guitar to pass the time. His attention was diverted by his new enthusiasm from college and athletics to songwriting in his shed with vocalist and closest friend from boyhood Dave Whelan. Conor discovered two players through the hiring of guitarist Edward Porter and drummer Callum McAdam who could give the tunes he had written fresh life.
The four then spent a year in seclusion, writing new songs and refining their style. They made their debut with "All or Nothing," which received over 500,000 Spotify streams.
