Glorietta is the creation of Matthew Logan Vasquez (Delta Spirit), who wanted to work with friends he had made over the previous ten years. Over the course of a nine-day recording session, those friends—Noah Gundersen, Kelsey Wilson (Wild Child), David Ramirez, Grammy Award winner Adrian Quesada (Brownout, Black Pumas) and Jason Robert Blum—met up in a rental home in Glorieta, New Mexico, a town just north of Santa Fe. The players were all connected in some way, some of them meeting for the first time when they arrived while others were old friends.
The days were lengthy and the tape played nonstop as the musicians introduced their new group of partners to song ideas that were in various states of development.
