Cardiff-born Gwenno Saunders is a sound artist, DJ, radio host and vocalist. She received positive reviews for her debut EP, "Ymbelydredd" and more recently, "Chwyldro" and "Golau Arall" — a run of singles preceding her debut album, "Y Dydd Olaf" (The Last Day).
In Brighton-based conceptual pop band The Pipettes, Gwenno was a writer and performer. More recently, she toured as a synth player with Australian duet Pnau (Empire Of The Sun) and Elton John.
She is a native speaker of Welsh and Cornish and it is this along with the fact that she co-produced and co-hosted the Welsh-language program "Cam o'r Tywyllwch" ("A Step Away From The Darkness") with Peski for Radio Cardiff and more recently, Resonance FM, that has inspired her to create music that translates her internationalist influences into layered, home-fi keyboard sounds wrapped in echoed vocals and hard hitting beats.
