Bridget Kearney & Benjamin Lazar Davis are two seasoned duos that make up the new group BB Wisely. At The New England Conservatory, Kearney, Davis and Graefe became friends and have worked together in numerous ensembles, including Cuddle Magic, Okkervil River, Jesse Harris and Maya Hawke. The trio's debut project together is BB Wisely. Davis and Kearney began creating music for a new album remotely from their residences in Los Angeles and Brooklyn during the peaceful winter months of that year. Using email, they traded ideas and created intricate, ornately produced demos of the songs they were working on.

When it came time to record the tracks, they asked the sensitive acoustic guitar virtuoso Graefe to transform the full-scale digital production concepts into solo acoustic guitar accompaniments for the songs. The three worked on Graefe's guitar parts for ten days in a studio in Brooklyn combining the melodic, harmonic and rhythmic concepts from the demos. Later, Kearney and Davis constructed a studio in an AirBnB in Tepoztlan, Mexico, where they recorded their vocals over Graefe's guitar parts and added additional layers of composition and recording. The resulting acoustic environment is distinctively intricate yet understated, lavish but sparse, The "Coal Canary"..
