In order to create dark garage tracks, Plastician first experimented with production in 2001 using FruityLoops. He belonged to a tight-knit group of teenage producers in Croydon that included included Skream and Benga. DJ Slimzee, the father of East London grime, became interested in Plastician's music and signed his debut 12" release (Venom / Shockwave), which was released in early 2002, to his Slimzos imprint.
The sound of Plastician quickly gained popularity because to DJ Hatcha's encouragement and appearances at the renowned FWD event at Plastic People in London.
