Taylor's debut album, which featured remixes of "Easy Please Me" by DJ Zinc and Katy B, was released on Rinse Recordings in 2012. Three years later, he formed the supergroup TQD with DJ Q and Flava D, two other bassline and UK garage musicians. The cooperation between the three artists—who were all previously signed to the Butterz record label—produced numerous experimental songs that straddled various genres.
Day and Night, TQD's debut single, was released in April 2015 on vinyl and digitally in a 500-copy limited edition.
