In the past five years, singer-songwriter Jamie Scott has been working on a collection of deeply personal songs inspired by his recent roles as a father and husband, in addition to writing and producing hit records for artists like One Direction and making waves with his Northern soul/indie-pop project Graffiti6. With the release of his latest solo album, "My Hurricane," Scott has put those songs together to produce a work that is both rich and wonderful, influenced by '70s folk rock and intimately narrates the story of an autograph-inspired couple.
In order to explore the multiple emotional facets of the narrative at the center of "My Hurricane," Scott mines historic influences like Carole King, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens and Joni Mitchell as well as soul, British folk, classic pop and country-rock.

Scott also started writing songs for One Direction (including the double-platinum single "Story of My Life," along with a dozen other tracks), Nicole Scherzinger, Christina Perri and Enrique Iglesias, as well as working with Michael Kiwanuka, a British soul singer whom Scott discovered and who has been frequently compared by critics to legends like Curtis Mayfield and Van Morrison.
