American stage director Rachel Chavkin, who was born on July 20, 1980, is renowned for her innovative work in the theatrical sector. She received considerable acclaim for her work as a director on the musicals Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 and Hadestown. Both of these shows received Tony Award nominations for Best Direction of a Musical, with Hadestown finally taking home the prize in 2019.
