It won't be changing any time soon that Quest is a guy of few words. He chooses not to advertise himself on social media, so word-of-mouth and people in the know passing along his name have been the main methods by which he has emerged as one of those up-and-coming new DJs that the devoted fans of wonky minimal—think Nicolas Lutz, Vera, Binh and Andrew James Gustav—whisper among themselves. Quest has long been a household name in that extraordinarily tight-knit subculture, which is centered around Berlin's Club der Visionaere.
Quest was born and raised in Italy, but he later relocated to London and began working at Vinyl Pimp, a little record shop in the city's east. He had to work many jobs due to the high cost of living in the city, which suffocated him. As a result, Berlin, with its low(er) rents and vibrant music scene, became increasingly alluring. It's no accident that his move coincided with a significant uptick in his bookings, both in the German capital and across the rest of Europe. He was first seen performing at Melliflow, Vera and Alexandra's party, where he shared the stage with other artists including Dasha Redkina, DJ Masda and Evan Baggs.
