CryptoWAVEradio, Austin Litz's second band and new house/bass endeavor, is a pandemic diversion turned new vocation. Since starting the cryptoWAVEradio live stream, where he explains his production methods and talks about the burgeoning NFT scene, Austin has started producing music for other artists, including his own and that of his original live band, LITZ. He has also listed over 100 NFTs for sale on the opensea.io marketplace and raised about $10K for Dance Safe through collaborations.
Austin's grandpa was one of the first guitarists to play the electric guitar in Washington, D.C., and he comes from a long line of Italian musicians. He then founded the Litz Music Center in Maryland, which is still run by his family and sells instruments and provides instruction today. Austin spent his formative years playing around with whichever instruments he pleased before enrolling in violin and saxophone classes. The patrons, who included both bigger-name touring rockers and blue-collar musicians financing their small musical careers, served as inspiration for him.
Currently, Austin uses Ableton Live, digital and analog synthesizers, drum machines, just about every type of actual instrument, including saxophones of all kinds, flutes, world instruments like bells and didgeridoo and more, as part of cryptoWAVEradio.
With Austin's specially constructed tower of electronic improvisations, cryptoWAVEradio performs live. He is periodically joined by Samwise the Great's live drums and frequently by his Venus Rising Dancers..
