Ben Sasse became a professor and the 13th president of the 170-year-old University of Florida.
Ben is devoted to leading Gator Nation through this period of fast change in the nature of labor, technology and higher education. He is a husband, father, historian, Uber driver and football enthusiast.
Ben has worked quickly to develop new leadership, build a UF-wide strategic planning project and base UF's goals in making the highest and best use of taxpayer money in his capacity as president of Florida's premier land-grant institution. Ben's career has spanned the public and commercial sectors. He was twice elected to the United States Senate and is a two-time national best-selling book according to the New York Times.
Ben was a dedicated educator who has held positions at Yale University, the University of Texas and Midland University in his native Nebraska.
