Since its formation fifteen years ago, Pile's changing brand of rock has earned them the moniker "your favorite band's favorite band." With each successive release, the band's relentless touring carried them from Boston's basement scene to international festivals, reaching ever-higher technical peaks. With scream-along-able lyrics that lean bizarre, Maguire—the meticulous composer, evocative guitarist and powerful voice behind the solo-turned-punk project—gives sonic embodiment to his inner universe. The time-defying performances of drummer Kris Kuss, laid atop gnarly basslines, have received a great deal of praise.
