A former Sony executive saw her ability at this time, but she nearly lost her life in a terrible boating accident right before signing a big record deal. Chesca underwent 14 reconstructive surgery while recuperating, yet she never stopped performing. In spite of the severe hardship and constant harassment at school, she knew she was something on stage.
Chesca's perseverance saw her through her profession, motivating her to follow her aspirations and relocate from Puerto Rico to Miami and finally Los Angeles.
