Songwriter David Zbirka returned home to work on new Sunnbrella music with London-based producer Patrick James Fitzroy (PVA, Sorry) after spending a significant amount of time in Australia and New Zealand drumming for new Gabriel Winterfield (Jagwar Ma) project Golf Alpha Bravo and supporting Dope Lemon on their sold-out tour. The goal was to move the project away from the bedroom-pop genre and toward a punchier, more sophisticated sound.
Sunnbrella wrapped off a successful tour of the UK and the EU, which included an evening performance at Brno, Czech Republic's Pop Messe festival, where the band shared the stage alongside acts including Spiritualized, Mareaux and Tommy Cash..
