For almost thirty years, Cut Chemist has been performing and recording. Known as a turntablist, he began DJing when he was eleven years old. Cut's father transformed an enclosed sun patio into a modest, improvised recording studio, where he began recording with his pals. Cut was a founding member of the Grammy-winning Latin funk group Ozomatli as well as the rap group Jurassic 5. His participation in both ensembles maintained his love of the hip hop genre while fostering an appreciation for music and rhythms from around the globe. His remixes and mixtapes won praise from critics. Lesson 6: The Lecture, his instrumental, allowed him to completely live up to his "Chemist" title.
