Cameron Cruce was raised throughout Central and East Africa after being born in Atlanta, Georgia, and he traveled extensively throughout his early years to experience a variety of musical, linguistic, and cultural influences. By the time he turned eighteen, he had lived in fifteen different countries, spoke three languages fluently, and had firsthand experience with the brutal reality of living in the third world. However, his newly discovered love of music would soon become his primary focus. His family relocated to Congo when he was twelve years old, and it was there that he started learning how to play the piano on his own and creating his first pieces of music.
He gradually honed his art after years of scrounging together what little he had, purchasing one piece of equipment at a time, learning it, and then putting it into practice.
