Spaceface is a Memphis and Los Angeles-based band that bills itself as "Retro Futurist Dream Rock," but you might also call them psychedelic pop. The groovy group, who are always listening in on the Universe's chaotic will in whispers, transforms the sublime pulse of the spacetime continuum into captivating melodies that twist and turn, bend and stretch, draw and drive. Like a glow-in-the-dark Slime Science Lab kit, their special blend of dream-pop, funk rock, and post-disco, powered by the Sun, eventually shines well past our collective sleep.
Jake Ingalls (previously of Flaming Lips), Eric Martin, Marina Aguerre (Teal Pop, Dumbo Gets Mad), and Garet Powell (Double Wish) are among the original members of the project, and they continue to experiment with sound.
The ultimate objective of Spaceface is to give anyone who needs or wants a quick getaway from the hazy agony that lingers in the corners of their eyes on a daily basis. The psych rockers adhere to the years of extensive research (or a dream to that effect) that have demonstrated that music, as an art form, is a powerful medication for your head and your feet.
The ensemble has performed at worldwide events like SXSW, Desert Daze, Canadian Music Week, Treefort Music Fest, Hangout Music Festival, God Save The Queen City, and Distorsion Psych Fest throughout their eight-year tour of the United States and Canada. The constantly changing American act treats their devoted fan base to exhilarating do-it-yourself performances that only get more bizarre as they hone their experimental craft.
