In order to support himself while playing football in junior college, the Southern California native started selling cannabis as a teenager. He then received a scholarship to play at UC Berkeley, played in the NFL for a short time, and then joined the Canadian Football League.
Ball learned about the cultivation side of cannabis while he was in Canada. Beginning his self-taught botany study, he had no prior experience of the profession.
