Trailer Park Boys is a mockumentary television series about the misadventures of a group of trailer park residents, some of whom are ex-convicts, living in the fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park. With the films, stage shows, streaming on Netflix and continued international interest in the original series, Trailer Park Boys is now going on its eleventh season. A new series titled Trailer park Boys Out of the Park: Europe also streamed to Netflix with eight episodes. There have been three films released in the series: The Big Dirty, released on October 6, 2006; Countdown to Liquor Day, released on September 25, 2009; and Don't Legalize It, released on April 18, 2014. The origins of Trailer Park Boys goes back to 1998, when director Mike Clattenburg created a short black-and-white film titled One Last Shot, which was followed up with another black-and-white film Trailer Park Boys. This film was featured at the Atlantic Film Festival in 1999, and caught the eye of producer Barrie Dunn who envisioned a television series. The series aired with Showcase for seven seasons, after which is began airing through Netflix.
